Gun Ownership in the Era of Mass Shootings

Brett Nielsen fires an Glock handgun at the 'Get Some Guns & Ammo' shooting range on January 15, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Less than halfway through 2018, Americans have already endured over one hundred mass shootings. So why is the NRA still so strong? Kerry Shaw, contributing editor for The Trace, discusses her ongoing series, "The NRA and Me," on gun owners who support gun ownership and in some cases, gun control. She is joined by Mike Spies, a reporter for The Trace, whose recent story, published in partnership with the New Yorker, is titled "The Unchecked Influence of NRA Lobbyist Marion Hammer."

This segment is guest hosted by Arun Venugopal.
