Alexandra Horowitz talks about the rich interior lives of dogs and why we love them. Her latest book is Our Dogs, Ourselves: The Story of a Singular Bond. She is a senior research fellow and the director of the Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard College, Columbia University, where she teaches seminars in canine cognition and creative nonfiction.
