Hear from two kids of immigrants - Safia in Queens with Bangladeshi parents, and Joeann in Queens with Haitian parents - on how The Talk went (or didn't go) for them.
These discussions originated in an initiative by the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, which is convening youth groups from different communities in New York to create empowering messaging around healthy relationships, sex education and the prevention of sexual violence.
All this week on Morning Edition, we're exploring conversations between immigrant parents and their kids about sex, relationships and consent. Listen to Tuesday's conversation about street harassment here, Wednesday's exchange with personal stories here, and Thursday's segment about challenging stereotypes here.
