Parents and Educators Fear Learning Pods Will Exacerbate Inequality

Parents are responding to this pandemic-afflicted school year by forming “pods” -- a small group of children that can learn and play together with a lower risk of spreading COVID-19.  Some parents are taking turns leading the pods. Others are hiring a certified teacher. And it's all contributing to concern that this well-meaning fix could further widen learning gaps between the haves and have-nots.
