The Linda Lindas at Brooklyn Steel

The four young women who make up the Linda Lindas have been making music together since 2018, which isn’t by itself a remarkable fact. But when you take into account the musicians ages, which range from 20 down to 14, that means they started when they were in grammar school. Blending elements of punk, rock en Espanol, and pop, the Linda Lindas have appeared in Amy Poehler’s movie Moxie, opened for the Rolling Stones, and are now, I guess, playing hooky so they can go on their North American tour. Many of their songs are in English but some are in Spanish, like the track called “Yo Me Estreso,” or “I am stressed.” The Linda Lindas play on April 22 at Brooklyn Steel.
