Pope Francis issued an ambitious encyclical on climate change, where he takes on consumerism, capitalism and inequality, and calls for personal and political change around the world. Dr. Christiana Peppard, an assistant professor of theology, science and ethics at Fordham University and the author of Just Water: Theology, Ethics and the Global Water Crisis (Orbis Books, 2015) discusses the politics, the global impact and the science of the document.
Pope Francis is invoking "integral ecology" -- that the Earth and those living in poverty must be protected, says @profpeppard.
