Lynne Patton, the Housing and Urban Development administrator for New York and New Jersey, talks about the current state of NYCHA, including her month-long stay in public housing.
"I now know what it’s like to stand in a shower under toxic mold spores while showering in tepid, discolored water.. what it’s like to literally try to fall asleep knowing that if there was a fire in the kitchen... there really is no exit in the NYCHA property," @LynnePattonHUD.

"Every time I go to a NYCHA property, they come ahead and they clean up the property… I wanted to maximize my exposure at different properties in different boroughs so that they can make changes on the ground in advance of my coming," says @LynnePattonHUD on her NYCHA stay.
