It was a week of growing pains for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. He was asked a couple of pointed questions regarding two of his key programs – and he didn't have an answer for either of them. At least not right away.
First, he didn’t know how much his new contract with state workers would cost taxpayers. Next, he avoided answering when asked if he ever smoked pot. The pot question might have seemed seem a little off-topic… but the question came up in the context of his long-stated plan to legalize and tax recreational marijuana.
Murphy DID eventually respond – but critics are saying his reluctance points to an inexperienced politician who's not ready for prime time.
