On This Week in Politics, we focus on an incident that has dominated the city's attention this week – including the attention of New York's political leadership.
It's the case of Jordan Neely, a homeless person who appeared to be in the midst of a mental health crisis and was killed by another passenger on the "F" train.
Many New Yorkers say they're dismayed that passengers took matters into their own hands without reason - with one putting Neely in a chokehold. But others say they are glad someone took action when another passenger acted up.
The story includes questions about race - as Neely was Black and the other passenger is white - as well as homelessness, mental illness, and shared spaces like the subway that are so common in our city.
WNYC's People and Power reporter, Elizabeth Kim joins Weekend Edition host David Furst to discuss.
