New York's Board of Elections canceled the state's Democratic presidential primary earlier this week. The Board says it made the decision to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus and because Joe Biden's lone remaining challenger for the Democratic nomination, Senator Bernie Sanders, suspended his campaign last month. But the decision drew the condemnation of several Sanders supporters, as well as another one of Biden's former primary rivals -- Andrew Yang.
Yang sued the Board because he says the cancellation is a violation of voters' rights. And the headline-generating lawsuit also happened to revive chatter about Yang's potential future run for Mayor of New York City.
Matt Stevens, politics reporter for the New York Times, wrote about Yang's political ambitions. He says a series of high profile moves suggest Andrew Yang is seriously considering the idea.
Speaking with David Furst, Matt says, "All of these things that he has continued to do, including starting a non-profit and a podcast is a part of that, whether it's his intention or not, keep him in the news."
