
This year is an off-off-year election, which typically means low voter turnout. But it's also the first election for New Jersey's state legislature since Gov. Phil Murphy took office at the beginning of 2018, and all 80 seats in New Jersey's Assembly are on the ballot. He's pursued a progressive agenda, while clashing with the state's Democratic Party machine — and the election could provide some insight into how New Jerseyans are responding.
