From record-breaking cyclist Lance Armstrong to Olympic champion track and fielder Marion Jones and baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez, doping has been the source of both great, historic performances, and great, historic scandals.

The World Anti Doping Agency and U.S. Anti Doping Agency have invested millions of dollars and man hours in an effort to cut down on the use of performance enhancing drugs.

But a new documentary, "Doped: The Dirty Side of Sports," argues that these efforts have been both intrusive for athletes, and ineffective at reducing doping. Here to weigh in is  Andrew Muscato, the director of "Doped," which premiers tonight on EPIX.

What you'll learn from this segment:

  • A history of doping regulations in sports.
  • Why regulations have not been effective.
  • What needs to change when it comes to this issue.
