The Commerce Department said the economy grew slightly faster in the third quarter of this year than previously estimated. The government now says GDP, or gross domestic product, rose at an annual rate of 2.6 percent. That's up a tenth of a percent from the previous estimate. But investors' reaction to the news was ho-hum.

The Dow gained 26 points, to close at 11,559. The S&P 500 was up four points, ending at 1,259. And the Nasdaq also gained four points, closing at 2,671.

Wall Street's Resurgence

As we approach the end of the year and the promise of million dollar bonuses on Wall Street, there are signs that "swagger" is back. WNYC's Amy Eddings spoke with Susanne Craig, who covers the financial industry for the New York Times and has been watching this resurgence of confidence and spending by many Wall Street workers. Craig gives some examples that the financial elite are spending again, and talks about what that says about the overall health of the economy.
