Ry Cooder

Studio 360 | Jan 11, 2011

Ry Cooder was a legendary guitarist long before his success producing Buena Vista Social Club. His new record I, Flathead is the third in his trilogy about Southern California. It tells the story of drag racers and engine tinkerers in the desert in the 1950s. One of the songs riffs off of Johnny Cash's "Hey, Porter" -– a tune that got Cooder into trouble when he was a kid.
