In Chen Kaige's new feature film, a father brings his son from a provincial town to Beijing, determined to find a music teacher who can grow the boy into a world-class violinist. Kaige is best known for directing Farewell My Concubine, a sweeping historical epic. In contrast, Together is set in the present and brings the subtle complexity of contemporary Beijing to the screen. Produced by Michele Siegel.
