Pulitzer Prize-nominated photographer Chris Hondros, who was killed in Libya earlier this month, is being remembered at a memorial service at a Brooklyn church Wednesday afternoon.
More than 1,000 mourners attended the service at Sacred Hearts St. Stephens Church where the photojournalist was to be married in August.
Hondros, 41, lived in Brooklyn and was engaged to be married this summer. He was killed while covering rebels fighting Libyan troops in Misrata. Photographer Tim Hetherington, the Oscar-nominated director of war documentary "Restrepo," was killed on the same day.
A funeral for the photojournalist is planned for Saturday in North Carolina, where he grew up.
