The Joy Formidable ends its first major U.S. tour with Friday night’s gig at Webster Hall. At the gig, expect the Welsh trio to brandish fuzzed-out indie rock from the group's debut full-length album The Big Roar. The album was released stateside in March on Canvasback/Atlantic Records. It features big textured sounds alongside the bright, whirring pop hooks of vocalist and guitarist Ritzy Bryan backed the vocals of bassist Rhydian Dafydd.

"The Big Roar covers a lot of emotional range," said Dafydd. "It's captured the battle between the eternal optimist and the manic depressive."
