David Simon's Treme

Studio 360 | May 26, 2011

The recent flooding in Louisiana put New Orleans back on alert — but this time, the levees held, its rural neighbors were flooded, and the city was spared. The HBO drama Treme is set in post-Katrina New Orleans as the city’s people weather the aftermath of the storm. It’s the latest series from David Simon, best known for creating The Wire, and it’s now in the middle of its second season. Kurt Andersen spoke with Simon and his co-creator, Eric Overmyer, when the series premiered. (Originally aired: April 16, 2010)
