WNYC News | Jun 3, 2011
The driver behind the wheel of the Chinatown-bound bus when it crashed in Virginia on Tuesday and killed four passengers was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Kin Yiu Cheung, 37, was slapped by Virginia authorities with the charges after the Flushing, Queens, native appeared in court on a reckless driving charge. The driver was arrested Friday after the new charges were filed against him.
Cheung was tired when the Sky Express bus carrying 58 passengers swerved off Interstate-95, hit an embankment and overturned about 30 miles north of Richmond, cops said. Four women were killed in the accident and several others were injured.
