This Louisville, Ky., band rose from the ashes of the hardcore/metal outfit Breather Resist. When the lead singer for Breather left the group four years ago, the remaining band members changed their name – and their sound. Young Windows is still hard – the bass guitar in “Old Skin” sounds like a giant stomping down 10th Ave. at 2am – but now the band is embracing a post-punk sensibility, and it works.
