Hilary Hahn and Hauschka: In Studio

Violinist Hilary Hahn and the experimental pianist known as Hauschka recently collaborated on an album called Silfra. But many of the sounds on the album – low drones, rustling percussion, rhythmic clanging – aren’t usually associated with either instrument. Host John Schaefer talks with the duo about the unexpected abilities of a prepared piano, and we hear a live performance.
