Linda Oh: On Mingus, Remixes, and '90s Rock

Soundcheck | Jul 9, 2012

Linda Oh took her time becoming a bassist – although she studied music as a kid in Australia, she didn’t pick up an upright bass until college. However, Linda’s career in jazz has since moved quickly – she recently put out her second album, called “Initial Here.” In this Soundcheck podcast, she joins us to talk about transitioning from playing Tool and Metallica covers to her own jazz compositions - and she divulges some of her bass idols, including one "Mr. M." Plus, she and her quartet play some of her latest works live in our studio.

Watch Linda Oh and her quartet perform "Deeper Than Happy" in our studio.
