Neil Young: One For The Aliens, One For The Sun

Inspired by NASA's Golden Record, blogger Adam Dawson of WNYC's It's A Free Country and musician Jarrett Nicolay of the band Astra Via recently introduced us to a mind game called "One For The Aliens, One For The Sun." The game is simple: pick an artist, and choose which of his or her songs are fit to be presented to aliens. Then, choose a song that should be sent directly to the heart of the sun for incineration. 

Today, Dawson and Nicolay bring their best andworst picks from the career of rock legend Neil Young, including their disagreement on which of Young's songs should be erased from the human memory.

To The Aliens: "Rockin' in the Free World" from Freedom (1989)

"Computer Cowboy (aka SysCrusher)" from Trans (1982).

Jarrett Nicolay: "It's the worst song off of that album, and while the computer voice he used was meant to seem cutting edge, it seems completely hokey nowadays.

"Wonderin'" from Everybody's Rockin' (1983) .

Adam Dawson: "Somewhere in the middle of making this doo-wop album that was meant to be a joke, it seems he started to take it seriously."
