Soundcheck | Dec 5, 2012

Today on Soundcheck: The musical theater of the 1970's might be remembered for productions like The Wiz and A Chorus Line. But Off-Broadway, it was an era of racy, sometimes pornographic musicals. Elizabeth L. Wollman, the author of Hard Times: The Adult Musicals In 1970's New York City discusses show like Oh! Calcutta! and Hair, that talked frankly about sexual, political, and social freedom.

Then, Billboard editor Joe Levy takes a look at Rod Stewart's tell-all memoir, Rod: An Autobiography, as well as the singer's very first holiday record, Merry Christmas, Baby.

And, Brooklyn indie band Clare And The Reasons give a winning performance in the studio, and answer 5 Questions about Berlin.
