Map: Where the Mayoral Candidates Raise Money

Money tracks support, and that's clear in this first look at where the 2013 Mayoral hopefuls are marshaling funds.   

We'll be parsing the numbers more, but take a look at this map, by zip code, of the total financial filings for each of the mayoral candidates. Council Speaker Christine Quinn has raised big money up and down Manhattan, including in her Chelsea council district. Brooklyn resident Bill de Blasio’s fundraising strongholds stretch wide and deep into his home borough, while Comptroller John Liu’s raised the most money in Queens and Chinatown. Former comptroller Bill Thompson's big fundraising haul in the last six months drew largely from from the Upper West Side, the Upper East side, and Brooklyn Heights, and he also drew the highest percentage of money outside New York City.
