Mayor Michael Bloomberg congratulated a group of the city’s top high school basketball players on Monday for winning the Mayor’s Cup Basketball All-Star Games.

The cup featured the best male and female high school seniors from the Public Schools Athletic League against the best high school seniors from the Catholic High School Athletic Association. The public school players won the boys' game, while the Catholic school team won the girls' game.

It was the first officially sanctioned all-star basketball competition between public schools and Catholic schools in 50 years.
