Anyone who sounds even a little like Bob Dylan will be scrutinized as a copycat. Kristian Matsson, a lanky Swede who calls himself The Tallest Man on Earth, sounds a lot like Bob Dylan. He's got the plaintive melodies, the winding chord changes, that unimstakable croak — and on "King of Spain," he even drops in a waggish reference to wearing "boots of Spanish leather." But Matsson employs the Bard's toolkit with a comfort and confidence that catapults him above the legions of imitators. This year's The Wild Hunt sounds less like a retread than a bunch of songs Dylan never got around to writing.
