Listen to an hour of music derived from Jim Jarmusch films – music which sets both the scene and a mood. There’s music by Jarmusch himself, in various incarnations of his instrumental rock bands Bad Rabbit and SQÜRL, along with music by Tom Waits, jazz-inflected music by John Lurie, and Ethio-jazz by Mulatu Astatke. Hear music from Only Lovers Left Alive, a collaboration between Jarmusch’s band SQÜRL and the Dutch lute player Jozef van Wissem. There’s also music by the “father of Ethio-jazz,” the living legend Mulatu Astatke, which was featured in the Jarmusch film Broken Flowers. Then, listen to music by “downtown New York icon of cool,” John Lurie - founder & leader of the Lounge Lizards, soundtrack composer, pioneering reality TV show star, and artist.
