Child's Play

Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
Former Del Fuegos guitarist Dan Zanes (pictured) gave up the trappings of the rock life for another career: making music for children. He and guitarist Barbara Brousal perform live in the studio and discuss Zanes’ new CD of original and traditional folk tunes for kids, Night Time. Plus, a conversation with composer Rob Kapilow about his musical rearrangement of Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, and a live performance of children’s piano music by Armenian musician Sahan Arzruni.
After a few years of learning how to play their instruments, Dan Zanes and the members of his 1980s rock band the Del Fuegos got to sing “Stand By Me” with Bruce Springsteen and make music videos for MTV viewers’ consumption.
