Heidi Grant Murphy has been a star soprano for 10 years, and today she takes a break from the opera stage to sing American tunes for us. Last week, WNYC’s Brian Lehrer did a CD review where he said that there is no good music for concert bands out there. Today, our response, as composer Mary Ellen Childs joins us to talk about her work for the St. Olaf Band. Also, jazz pianist Jacky Terrasson stops by to give us a live taste of his daring new album.
