Boundaries are So '20th Century'
Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
Our old friends the Ying Quartet return to the studio today to talk about their newest addition to the "No Boundaries" series at Symphony Space. This time, they’re premiering a new piece by the eminent American composer Ned Rorem. Also, lyric soprano Amy Burton drops by to sing a couple of songs and tell us how she balances the many diverse projects in which she’s involved, from the opera to chamber music to putting on a one-woman show. In other news, we hear from Richard Morrison, writer for The Times of London, about the grand opening of St. Luke's, a church now converted to a concert hall. It's being hailed as the model for the performance space of the 21st Century.
