Author Denise von Glahn catalogs the relationship between environment and American classical music composers in her new book “The Sounds of Place: Music and the American Cultural Landscape.” And we talk with an American classical music composer, John Luther Adams, who has been writing responses to the unusual landscape he experiences every day in his Alaskan home.
