Street Sounds and Celtic Beats

Madeleine Peyroux was a 22-year-old American who had been living in Paris as a street musician. But after a few auspicious breaks, she suddenly found herself on the fast track to fame. Appearances at Lilith Fair and jazz festivals, and opening tours for Sarah McLachlan and Cesaria Evora followed, and her 1996 debut album sold an impressive 200,000 copies. She stops by to tell her story, which was hardly a fluke. Speaking of, we’re joined by the Fab Four known as Flook. Flook performs a mix of Irish traditional music and Celtic fusion, played by a front line of two flutes, and a rhythm section of guitar and bodhran.
