Hear from the Bang on a Can All-Stars from the 2017 Ecstatic Music Kick-off Concert, a work by Anna Thorvaldsdottir for collected sound and hybrid ensemble. It’s called “Fields,” and is part of Bang on a Can’s “Field Recordings” project. Also, listen to an early work from the Philip Glass Ensemble, along with a work by Missy Mazzoli from the mid-2000’s, in a recording by the hybrid chamber group, the NOW Ensemble. Plus, listen to an “airy” work by Mark Dancigers for the group yMusic, and a piece from one of the Bang on a Can Co-Founders, David Lang.
