Madeleine Peyroux

Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
When jazz-pop vocalist Madeleine Peyroux arrived on the scene in the mid '90s, she was often compared to Billie Holiday, not just because of her smoke-and-whiskey vocals but because of her preference for classic songs of the ‘30s and 40s. On her latest album, "Bare Bones," the former street busker sounds less like a vintage jazz singer, instead drawing from a mixture of rock and soul sounds. Peyroux performs live in our studio.
