John Adams is not only a composer but also a conductor and educator, as he proves at Zankel Hall on Monday, March 21st, where he is joined by many fine artists.
This evening you can hear him conducting the London Symphony Orchestra and violinist Kent Nagano, as they perform his own Violin Concerto
As a result of a two-year visit to Rio de Janeiro, Darius Milhaud composed his twelve “Saudades do Brazil” (Greetings from Brazil), each of which bears the name of a district of that glorious city, and is based on South American rhythms. They are brought to finger-snapping life by pianist Alexandre Tharaud, who can be heard live in keyboard music from the Baroque era at Columbia University’s Miller Theater on Wednesday, March 23rd.
