Hear music by Brooklyn-based guitarist and ambient electronic composer Rachika Nayar from her debut album, Our Hands Against the Dusk (named for a Richard Jackson poem.) Nayar worked on the album over four years, digitally processing her textured guitar playing, then combining those mutated sounds with shimmering synths, piano, and orchestral strings. Listen to “Aurobindo,” (titled after the Indian yogi), inspired by Nayar’s Indian heritage.
Listen to a soundtrack to transhumanism by Isambard Khroustaliov, which is the alias of London-based electronic musician and composer Sam Britton (Icarus, Fiium Shaarrk and Leverton Fox), inspired by Ornette Coleman. Then, there’s guitar and electronics from the Washington DC musician, artist, and licensed funeral director Tristan Welch, from his record, Temporary Preservation. Also, hear a guitar-based soundscape from Noveller, aka guitarist and composer Sarah Lipstate, who is now based in L.A.
There’s also drifting, ever-changing music by Eluvium, the moniker of Portland, Oregon-based Matthew Robert Cooper, from his forthcoming album Virga II. Plus, listen to music that incorporates field recordings of endangered Indiana bats in Eluvium’s collaboration with Field Works, aka artist and musician Stuart Hyatt in his experimental guise.
