Hear newly-released music (recorded in 2008) by Frank London and the Klezmer Brass Allstars, which brings together klezmer and cumbia on a drinking song, called “Booze”. There’s also music from the New Jersey-based progressive folk band Nefesh Mountain, who weave traditional Jesiwh texts into American roots music. Sung in English and Hebrew, Jewish spirit and soul meet with Bluegrass and Old-Time musical traditions.

Plus, from the New Sounds Live concert series, revisit music recorded live at Merkin Hall in 1993 concert featuring Palestinian-American oud and violin player and composer Simon Shaheen (who holds Israeli citizenship) and improvising trumpeter Frank London. In a meeting of traditions, Jewish and Palestinian musicians came together as the Frank London / Simon Shaheen Project.
