Hundreds of Asian-American theatre artists from across the US are in New York for the first-ever National Asian-American Theatre Festival which runs through June 24th. Tisa Chang is a Festival organizer and founder of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, a NY-based company celebrating its 30th anniversary this season. Alan Muraoka is a Broadway actor (and Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street), who is directing William Finn's musical Falsettoland. They talk about why the Festival is important, and discuss the powers and perils of color-blind casting.
