Et Ret

Spinning on Air | May 18, 2010
Is it backwoods chamber music? Or backwards chamber music? Or backwards chamber music from the backwoods of Brooklyn? It isn't easy to describe the music produced by James Angelos' group Et Ret. Using fiddles, electric guitars and percussion, the group weaves their own path through the worlds of minimalism, classical music, and folk fiddling drones. Intrigued by this uncategorizable sound, host David Garland has invited Et Ret into the WNYC Studio to play a live set, and to talk a little about their music.
