Guitarist and King Crimson founder Robert Fripp has enjoyed a fascinating solo career, drawing on influences of minimalism as well as the stylings of such New Age players as Michael Hedges. His music finds a worthy counterpart in composer Phil Kline, whose own works stretch across the boundaries between contemporary classical and ambient electronica. We hear both artists on this edition of New Sounds, with Kline's "Exquisite Corpses," from the Bang on a Can CD, Renegade Heaven. Fripp is represented through an appearance at the World Financial Center's Winter Garden, part of a fall 2000 New Sounds Live program.
