New Sounds | May 24, 2010
While Irish folk music is well-known to a broad public in the United States, that small country's contemporary composers struggle for greater recognition. On this New Sounds, listen to interviews and music recorded on location in Ireland, where the new-music scene is especially rich. Get a taste of the radiant vocals of Dublin-based choir Anúna (which recently embarked on its first-ever US tour) as well as such composers and performers as Daniel Figgis, Roger Doyle, Judith Ring, and Joanna MacGregor.
