Recorded on location in Dublin, host John Schaefer visits with composer/vocalist Michael McGlynn, founder of the Irish choral ensemble Anúna. Twelve centuries of Ireland's vocal tradition are regularly explored by Anúna, who are best-known for their performance in Riverdance. Here the group, which usually features a lineup of 10 to 17 young Irish singers, offers back-to-back songs in variety of dialects - middle English, Scots Gaelic, Irish, Breton, Medieval Irish, Latin, and Greek - fusing ancient and contemporary strands of Irish music.
