#2325: Hearing Voices

New Sounds | May 24, 2010
Hear voices along with the Kronos Quartet on this New Sounds show, featuring music by Scott Johnson which uses the recorded voice of the political philosopher I.F. Stone. Johnson taps into the melodic cadences of Stone’s voice, chops them up, and feeds them through various effects, all the while accompanied by witty string quartet motifs. This work is part of next week’s New Sounds Live at Merkin Hall (9/28), not incidentally. Also on the show, Music from Michael Daugherty, also featuring string quartet.
