Cameron Carpenter

Soundcheck | Jun 4, 2010

Think organist and you’ll probably envision an elderly woman lurking about a church loft. You obviously haven’t encountered Cameron Carpenter. One critic described him as “the bastard child of Wendy Carlos and David Bowie,” thanks to his taste for wearing glam-rock make-up and performing in all-white, rhinestone-studded outfits he designs himself.

But Cameron Carpenter isn’t a gimmick. He’s on a mission to take the organ out of the church and onto the road. He tells us how, and he shares his new CD/DVD collection, "Cameron Live!"
