Eric Whitacre

Eric Whitacre has become one of the most popular contemporary choral composers. Earlier this year he made headlines by creating Lux Aurumque, a virtual choir assembled from 185 individual YouTube video clips from 12 countries. 

The clip has attracted nearly one million views to date and it’s bringing the composer an ever wider audience: last week he signed a recording deal with Decca, and next week he conducts the New York premiere of Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings at Carnegie Hall. He joins us from his home in Los Angeles.
