Jimmy Heath

Soundcheck | Jun 21, 2010

Saxophonist Jimmy Heath’s career began in the late 1940s and ’50s when he worked alongside Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and Gil Evans.

He later teamed up with his brothers Percy and Tootie in the hard bop trio the Heath Brothers. Now in his 80s, he remains active as a saxophonist and composer and joins us in advance of a star-studded tribute concert at Carnegie Hall to fellow saxman James Moody.
