Two Minutes With…Kathleen Guzman, Auctioneer
WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010
New York, NY —
Art appraiser and auctioneer Kathleen Guzman lost her full-time job nearly a year ago. Since then she's been putting her 30 years of experience to good use for Housing Works, the non-profit that funds programs for people in the city living with HIV and AIDS.
She helped the group organize its first live auction last fall, which raised more than $40,000 in an hour-and-a half. WNYC's Kathleen Horan is kicking off the series "2 Minutes With" by catching up with Guzman at a Housing Works thrift store on 23rd street.
Kathleen Guzman will be serving as auctioneer at the next auction of Early American prints at Housing Works on January 27th. And there's more on our news blog.
