Bloomberg's Latest Campaign Figures

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

In his campaign for a third term, Mayor Bloomberg has spent nearly $65 billion. That's according to the latest figures prepared by the Bloomberg campaign. The Democratic opponent, comptroller William Thompson, is financing his campaign through donations and public matching funds. Thompson already has spent half of the $8 million collected. Bloomberg does not take donations and is allowed by law to spend whatever he wants, as long as he files expense reports.

Since his last report on July 11th, the mayor has spent $28.2 million dollars, which works out to about $15,000 per hour.
