Archibishop Dolan Installed

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

The new archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan, has been officially installed. The two days of ceremonies reached their conclusion with the stamping of a letter from Pope Benedict and Dolan giving the homily in a mass at St. Patrick's. Barbara Li Cardi traveled from upstate with a friend to take part in the celebration. She thinks the new archbishop might inspire people to return to the faith.

LICARDI: I'm hoping he'll bring some new attendance to the church because I think its been dropping off a little bit and he seems so lively. Maybe he'll get more people interested in the Catholic Church.

Many state and local officials attended today's mass, including Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Paterson.
